Here's what's inside the trial, a 7-day test plan, and what it costs once the trial ends.
What do you get in the CareVisor NDIS software free trial?
A free trial of NDIS provider software is a no-cost, time-limited copy of the product you test before paying. CareVisor's trial is the whole platform, not a cut-down demo, loaded with sample participants, workers and shifts.
| What you can test | What to look for |
|---|---|
| Participant intake | Details entered once, then flowing into rosters, documents and billing |
| NDIS rostering | Shifts filled by qualification, availability and location |
| SCHADS pay calculations | Loadings and penalty rates set out the way auditors expect |
| Staff credential tracking | Screening, WWCC and training expiries flagged before they lapse |
| Incident reporting | Incidents and notes logged from the field on the app |
| Claims | Claims built from shifts actually delivered |
| Evidence packs | A one-click export of what auditors ask for |
Every plan includes unlimited staff and Australian-hosted data on AWS Sydney. See the full list on the CareVisor features page.

What should you test during a 7-day NDIS software trial?
Most trials get wasted. A roster emergency hits on day one, and you remember the login on day eight. This plan takes about 30 minutes a day.
| Day | What to test |
|---|---|
| Day 1, participants | Add one the way you would at intake. Check the details, reach rosters and documents without retyping. |
| Day 2, rostering | Build a week, then refill a shift as if someone called in sick at 6am. |
| Day 3, SCHADS | Run a Sunday shift and a broken shift. Compare the breakdown with the SCHADS Award guidance from the Fair Work Ombudsman and our SCHADS Award pay rates for 2026. |
| Day 4, compliance | Set a worker's screening check to expire next month and see if the dashboard flags it. |
| Day 5, the field | Clock in on the app, write a progress note and log a test incident. |
| Day 6, claims | Build a claim from the week's shifts and check it against our NDIS claiming guide. |
| Day 7, audit day | Export an evidence pack. Would it hold up? Our guide on how to prepare for an NDIS audit shows what auditors expect. |
If it's saved you time by day 7, keep it. If not, you've lost nothing.
Is there free NDIS software for small providers and sole traders?
Short answer: Partly. Spreadsheets, invoicing templates and free accounting tiers cost nothing and can suit a sole trader with no staff. They can't roster, track credentials, or keep an audit trail, which is where providers with support workers get caught out.
| Option | Cost | Works for | Where it breaks |
|---|---|---|---|
| Spreadsheets and templates | Free | Sole traders with 1 or 2 participants | No audit trail, no expiry alerts, no SCHADS logic |
| Free invoicing or accounting tier | Free | Sending invoices | Doesn't roster, store consents or record incidents |
| CareVisor free trial | Free for 7 days, then from $96 a month | Providers with staff, registered or registering | Paid after the trial |
Pros of free tools: no cost, fine for very small operators. Cons: scattered data, no expiry warnings, and evidence rebuilt by hand before every audit.
If you're an unregistered NDIS provider working alone, free tools may do for now. Once you hire a support worker, the SCHADS Award applies, and a spreadsheet can't show how each shift was paid.
How much does NDIS software cost after the free trial?
Short answer: CareVisor starts from $96 a month for up to 4 participants. It's priced per participant, not per staff member, and the rate falls as you grow, to $2.25 per participant for a provider supporting 400 participants on Professional annual billing.
Unlimited staff come with every plan, there's no setup fee, and billing is monthly with cancel-any-time terms. Move the slider on the pricing page for your exact cost, or see how pricing models differ in our NDIS software comparison for Australia.
Can I start my own NDIS business with the right software?
Software won't register you, but it makes your registration evidence and first audit far easier. To register with the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission, you need an ABN, screened key personnel and a self-assessment against the NDIS Practice Standards, followed by an audit. Registration generally lasts three years, and from 1 July 2026 supported independent living (SIL) providers must be registered. Read the NDIS Commission's guide to provider registration before you apply.

Who is the CareVisor trial best for?
A good fit: registered or registering providers who employ support workers, owners juggling spreadsheets and a rostering app, and teams with an audit coming up that want NDIS compliance software holding evidence as they work.
